The TGQ Law Firm President’s Letter
We trust you had a great holiday season closing out 2018 and hopefully you are off to a great start. The new year always brings an opportunity to recalibrate our purpose, setting our minds on renewed (or new) goals, plans and dreams so that we can charge forward to great things. Plus, better weather is ahead of us instead of behind us! The beginning of the year is a great time to take direct and intentional action steps towards satisfying important and urgent tasks that were set aside during the “end of year” craze. Click To Tweet
We often set resolutions promising that “this year” we will get our house (physical, financial, spiritual, relational, etc.) in order. We no longer want to just get by, overlooking matters that we know need our attention. We want to take care of business…this time! Of course, we have often set those goals in the past, commenced working on them, only to find ourselves sidetracked with other matters. So what will be the difference this year? How will you make sure those “important” matters actually get taken care of this time?
One of the things that I have determined to be most beneficial for me some time ago is to solicit the assistance of individuals whose profession or means of income is in the area of my goal. I hire plumbers now, instead of putting off plumbing jobs that I really don’t want to do. I have surrounded myself with great team members in my office to help me produce good quality service (products and treatment) for my clients in a much more efficient manner. I secure help in reaching my goals from individuals who are trained to make sure I reach them in the best possible manner. And it works!
Knowing that you likely are interested in creating or updating documents this year, we are here to help. The TGQ Law Firm is committed to providing you with great information to keep you informed. We will also work with you to identify and create the best plan for you.
Having hands-on experiences with individuals who have failed to plan prior to the rise of a crisis, we will also help you stick to the process and plan of completing your plan (creation or update) in a timely manner. With our help, you will accomplish your 2019 goal, in 2019!
Back to Basics
Take a look inside of this month’s issue of our newsletter. Since this is the start of the year, we have chosen to kick it off with a recap of some basic fundamentals of estate planning (wills, trust and powers of attorney). We will touch on common questions that can identify your need for an estate plan. We will raise awareness of the “cost” of allowing a non-expert attorney (or other) assist you with your plan. Additionally, we discuss a typical estate plan, discussing multiple documents that are included. This newsletter is packed with good information that will point you in the right direction.
We’ve included a link to a video providing a “sneak peak” into our “Wills, Trusts and Medicaid” workshop. One of our 2019 goals is to clarify the appropriate approach to estate planning. We’ve seen too many people take missteps after receiving bad information or advice from someone untrained. We’re working hard to correct this false information. So, please view the video and if you know of any companies or groups that could benefit from a workshop such as this, please contact our office.
We look forward to hearing from you this year, even if it is just to say hello.
